Wifi Enabled Weighing Scale ? Really ?

Well, technically it’s possible. It’s just emitting the information using the Wifi Connection over to the web. Its nothing different then using the Nintendo Wii Game to play games like Mario Cart with players from all over the world.

Anyways, this thing actually goes a little over that and is Twitter Friendly. Yes, you got it. This cute little geeky Weighing Scale will actually take your weight and calculate your fat and BMI. It will then let the world know by Tweeting about it. Who in the world cares about what my weight is and then even if somebody following me at Twitter does care, do I want to let them know if I gained some weight or lost some. What if my kids decide to get on the scale…will this still tweet my account as my kids weight as my body weight ? I can’t be 35 Pounds. Or does this new piece of technology also have some sort of Finger Print or I should say Foot Print Verification to figure out if it’s me before tweeting it as my weight. I bet there is “something”. I can’t even vision what’s next in the World of Technology. Wifi Enabled Weighing Scale Features

    Looks really good.

The kind of weight I am gaining for past 2 years, I would not use it. :)
I don’t wanna know myself what I am gaining, let alone the whole world.

By the way, withings.com emailed me and told me that “The scale can recognise 8 different users. Each user has his own private account and can choose or not to tweet their own weight.” I am not sure how easy/complex is to switch the user, but we will see when they get back to me on that question, I will update here.

I don’t know what the rest think about this machine, but I am definitely NOT going to be a proud owner sharing every pound gained or lost with the rest of the world. (It took me more exactly 8 Hrs. and 17 Minutes to write the above two and a half lines. Technology sometimes terribly confuses me to decide whether its a Thumbs up or Thumbs down..Errr… :P )

I think with the world going Twitter, we all want to control what the web wants to know about you and what not. If you think about it, who cares if I am 90 Pounds or 350 Pounds Gorilla. Well, maybe someone for sure does. But who cares if I am having Coffee right now or waiting for the signal to turn green at a traffic intersection.

But these cool new gadgets of today and definitely taking things to the next level. Very Creative I must say.

I have been using Twitter now for three months and I have to say it does help getting interest in you and what you are doing. I do it purely for business and believe it helps. I am amazed by how much interest a couple of lines can generate.
