Keyword Research is always 1st Point on SEO 101. Actually even before a business starts or create a product, brand, merchandising, registering a domain name, incorporating a company, trademark etc.

The session for Smart Organic Keyword Research and Selection here at 2010 Pubcon in Las Vegas was awesome. Just some idea triggers. More things to do. Side Note: Please contact me if you have a Human Cloning Company . I need some clones made, atleast one more of me.

The speakers in this session were Wil Reynolds, Craig Paddock, Carolyn Shelby, Mark Jackson and was moderated by Joe Laratro. Overall Session Rating: Very Good

Carolyn shared some nice ideas about ABC’s of Keyword Research. A is for Analytics, B is for Brainstorming and C is for Crunch. It makes sense. Dump all keywords into a master list and then worry about refining them at a later stage. Use Google Analytics or whatever web analytic tools you use to get some initial keywords. Mark your keywords or divide your spreadsheet into 2 parts, one that you can target with existing content and the other one that can’t be supported by existing content, which means this can be used for future content ideas, content generation. I would like to add, Don’t forget data from your PPC Campaigns and Use data from Site Search. Very Very Important.

Will shared a lot of tools. The one I love that I did not know about is Soovle. Throw in a keyword and it searches for related/similar searches at Google, Amazon, Yahoo, Live, Youtube, Answers, Wikipedia. The others are tools that most know of like the Google Keyword Tool. A not so known but useful tool for Google Suggest Keyword Ideas is Übersuggest. Just Google it, You’ll find it. There’s also a lot of useful data in Google Trends. Also check Wonder Wheel by Google (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&tbs=ww:1&q=search+engine+optimization&btnG=Search) and Soovle at (http://soovle.com/?q=search%20engine%20optimization&e=0&s=google,amazon,yahoo,live,youtube,answers,wikipedia) and Google Trends at (http://trends.google.com/websites?q=jcrew.com,+landsend.com,+eddiebauer.com,+abercrombie.com)

I have notes from Craig and Mark’s presentations. I will link to their powerpoint presentations when I get them or when the Pubcon Presentations Disk gets mailed to me. Again, a great session. Lots of Ideas. Lots of Work to do. What am I gonna do .

I am off to the Networking Lunch For All Gold Pass Attendees.

Just finished the 1st Session In-House SEO at Pubcon in Las Vegas 2010. I didn’t have any plans to cover / live blog sessions etc from Pubcon. I have some free time in between sessions, so I thought why not use the wifi, get connected and get some work on the blog.

The session was In-House SEO by Ash Nallawalla, Josh Gampel, Garrett Rent, Jessica L Bowman, Moderated by Melanie Mitchell. Overall Session Rating, Good.

Notes: Some nice idea triggers by Garrett regarding leveraging internal resources for Link Building. SEO is indeed Hard Work, but well worth it. You can also download Ash’s Presentation at trainsem.com/pubcon
I will add links to other speaker presentations if/when I find them. Josh, I met you last year at Pubcon. Good to see you speaking here in today’s session. Jessica, you were awesome. Ash, thanks for the Pubcon 20% off coupon. Off to the next session: Smart Organic Keyword Research and Selection. Let’s see if I can find time to blog about that one.

Anyways, this thing actually goes a little over that and is Twitter Friendly. Yes, you got it. This cute little geeky Weighing Scale will actually take your weight and calculate your fat and BMI. It will then let the world know by Tweeting about it. Who in the world cares about what my weight is and then even if somebody following me at Twitter does care, do I want to let them know if I gained some weight or lost some. What if my kids decide to get on the scale…will this still tweet my account as my kids weight as my body weight ? I can’t be 35 Pounds. Or does this new piece of technology also have some sort of Finger Print or I should say Foot Print Verification to figure out if it’s me before tweeting it as my weight. I bet there is “something”. I can’t even vision what’s next in the World of Technology.

I can’t really imagine the responses. However, since this is something which feels like something I could even do in my sleep, I decided to contribute this information to the World Wide Web in my own way. I hope this helps somebody. This will be in a series of Tutorials with screenshots. While I am working on those Tutorials, do watch this Video, its an Eye Opener. To everybody else, this really tells how an average user searches on the web.

I found this interesting Twitter Tool started by Lufthansa, they call it MySkyStatus @ MySkyStatus.com
I actually found this on The Next Corner, Dennis Goedegebuure’s Blog. I got particularly interested since I have a flight scheduled for Tuesday, November 10th, 2009 to fly to Las Vegas for the Webmaster World PubCon Conference. I have added my flight details to My Sky Status. It’s set to tweet my departure, arrival and twice while I am on board flying in the friendly skies. It can also update to Facebook, but I have only set it to Tweet it for now. Maybe for my return flight I will have it Facebook it and see which one does what. Thanks Dennis.

Social Concerns Shine Bright as these City Youth groups walk an extra mile this Diwali. Sahil, It’s good to see you active with such a social cause. For everybody else, Sahil is my nephew and is working with this NGO and once a week they all go to rural areas and teach the kids there, specially in the Slums. Now education is something all these rural area kids need (Not every kid gets to act in a movie like Slumdog Millionare where actual kids from the Slums of Mumbai got out to the World). Keep it up Sahil.

My Boys Vyaan & Vansh (just turned 5 earlier this year). I just downloaded pictures from my Digital Camera and saw this picture where both of them are eating some ice cream on the Dining Table and while they are eating, they are also playing their Video Games. Vansh (One on the left and the Younger Twin) is playing on his Sony PSP while Vyaan (One on the right and the Older Twin Brother) is fiddling with his Nintendo DS Lite. I remember back in the days when I was a kid, my and my brother, we only had the Nintendo Video Game Console on the TV. I can’t even imagine what the kids of the next generation will have to play with.
